Oakenville Farm STORE
We are excited to now have a shop front in the heart of Nundle, beside the Post Office at 37 Oakenville Street. Our opening hours are 10am- 2pm Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
At our store we sell fresh Nundle produce, Oakenville Farm preserves including jams, sauces and relishes and freshly baked goods. Jeff’s unique, furniture made from reclaimed timber is also for sale with the option to order commissioned pieces.
Rachel’s hand-crafted herbal skincare and remedies are extremely popular and she is on hand to share her intimate knowledge of the herbs and products. Individual herbal and Iiridology consultations will soon be available outside the shop hours.
The store is also the home for many of our workshops and the space is continually evolving as the store gains wings and expands in size. Come and see what off-grid living is all about and thanks in advance for supporting our small, ethical business.
We believe that education, creativity & knowledge sharing build strong, independent communities & are key to us living an inspired, enriched life.
Workshops are run fortnightly at either our shop or farm and include bread-making, crocheting, rag-weaving, cold-water therapy, kids holiday eco-crafts and more. To book into one of our upcoming workshops, visit our Facebook or Instagram pages for further details.
Rachel is also available for bookings to conduct workshops on herbal tea-making, natural medicine and health and well-being. Individual life coaching and herbal consultations also available.
Oakenville Farm is a pleasant 1km stroll from the Peel Inn, Nundle toward the high country of Hanging Rock. The 5 acre property is gradually being transformed by owners Jeff and Rachel into a haven of permaculture, education, health and wellness and creativity. Jeff’s skills in innovative building using recycled materials, are evident in the increasing rustic chique buildings and infrastructure which blend in with the well-worn original 150 year old farmhouse. The old duck-house is now an Infrared sauna room, the junk shed has been transformed into outdoor bathroom including an ice-bath and both the ‘Studio’ and ‘Herb and Brew House’ have been constructed from salvaged timber from various buildings around Nundle.
Rachel is trained as a Pilates Teacher and has 20 years experience in health. She runs weekly Pilates classes from the studio, and is passionate about the wellness benefits from the Infrared sauna which is open to the public for bookings. Once the horse-float tiny house and bell-tent glamping projects are complete, the increased onsite accommodation options will be the final step in launching weekend Health and Wellness Retreats on the property. Rachel is also training as a Western Herbal Medicine Practitioner and the Herb and Brew House is becoming an Apothecary filled with remedies made from plants grown and gathered on the property. These plant medicines are for sale from their roadside honesty produce stall at the front of the property and via special order.
The property is also a creativity hub where musicians and artists can gather. The studio triples as a Pilates, Music Recording and Live Music Venue. Several small house-concerts have been held here and Jeff’s culinary skills, alongside his song-writing prowess have been enjoyed by many in the Nundle community. A large deck/stage is currently in construction for larger house-concerts to be held at this unique live music venue in the very near future.
Whether you are needing a health cleanse in Oakenville Infrared Sauna, a good stretch in a Pilates class, a taste of free-range eggs, honey and organic produce, an educational experience on the numerous benefits of a slow and simple permaculture lifestyle, an infusion of live music or a creative weekend retreat, you can be guaranteed of an inspirational experience at Oakenville Farm. Come and see what truly living at one with nature, is all about.
